Quality Hotel Grand Royal

When we arrived, we were told that there are two sides in the hotel, older and newer and the receptionist gave us an upgrade to the newer side, which was very nice of them! They even asked if we wanted twin or double room and with a bath tub or shower! As booking from Booking.com, I didn't realise the two sides of the hotel and you could see the difference in the corridors. The room was clean and spacious with a big window and nice size bathroom (we chose the bathtub, which was super nice!). The view could have been better, but we had small view towards the city, otherwise it was the street next to the hotel. Room had basic hotel room amenities and we were happy with them. Nice bed, but should have asked for another extra pillow. The hotel is situated next to a shopping center and the parking is in there too, which is very convenient. Everything we needed was small walking distance away. Could have walked also to the Narvik Gondoli, but we had bad weather and decided to skip it. The best part of the hotel was the Linken restaurant on the hotels 7th floor. It was so good that we dined there 2 nights in a row. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing! Also the view to the city is very nice from up there. We had very good time both of the evenings over there and definitely did not leave hungry!

Very close to the train station and museums. The breakfast is amazing, so many options and very well prepared. If you pay a small amount, they give you a container that you can fill with whatever you want from the breakfast buffet so you can eat it later. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Guests have access to a great 24/7 gym one block away. Bonus: this hotel is kind of a historical place, as it was used by the Germans during the war.

The receptionist allowed me to park my motorbike directly outside the entrance of the hotel in an area marked ‘no parking‘ which saved me the cost of the public car park next door. So I upgraded my room from the old part of the hotel to the new part and had a very comfortable nights sleep.

Convenient for the station and the town, museum etc. Very helpful reception staff - thank you Chrissy and Cecilie for helping us check our travel arrangements and going beyond the call of duty to help us. Good breakfast (though ran out of croissants early). Top floor bar was open till 1am and high enough to see the midnight sun, even at 1am. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable bed and good location. Good buffet breakfast included. Parking next door in shopping centre (150 NOK)
